Net a Fish Rebirth

Checked

Rebirth is the reset button that pays you back. The game says it unlocks new worlds and bigger rewards, the first one happens inside the tutorial, and every rebirth after that leaves you with a skill tree to spend points in. The exact requirement numbers are not published, so this page tells you when to take it and what changes, not how much it costs.

What rebirth is for

The official listing is short and specific: rebirth to unlock new worlds and bigger rewards. Two things follow from that sentence. Progression is world-gated, so at some point the water you are fishing in stops being the right water. And the rewards scale with the number of rebirths, which means an early rebirth is not a loss, it is a multiplier you start compounding.

Recorded sessions show a player rebirthing again within minutes of a fresh start, which suggests the early thresholds are deliberately low. Later rebirths are where the cost curve bites.

When the first rebirth happens

Inside the tutorial, before you can buy anything meaningful. A recorded first-session walkthrough goes: place the net, tag a fish into the cooler, take the net upgrade, meet the fisherman, then the game asks for the first rebirth. The skill tree opens immediately after.

So the first rebirth is not a decision. The decision is the second one.

Skill points after rebirth

The skill tree is the reason later rebirths are not purely destructive. Recorded sessions spend the first points on the net branch, then on fishing speed, and treat the tree as the place where a reset turns into permanent power.

What you get When What it is spent on
Skill tree After the first rebirth Net upgrades first, then the other branches
New worlds On rebirth, per the official description New water to net
Bigger rewards On rebirth, per the official description Multipliers on what you earn back

We cannot publish point totals or per-node costs: no source reviewed lists them, and the in-game tree shows them only to a player who has the points.

When to take the next one

Use a simple test instead of a threshold table: if the next upgrade at your dock costs more than a full session earns, you are in the wrong world. Rebirth there.

Three extra conditions change the timing:

  • You have an unfinished fusion stack. Eight Shiny into Gold is a lot of casts. If rebirth clears the cooler, finish the stack first. If it keeps it, the timing does not matter.
  • You just bought 2x Money or 2x Luck. Those multipliers make the current world pay longer, so a rebirth straight after buying them wastes the window you just paid for.
  • You are chasing the index reward. Collecting new species pays out once; a rebirth that resets your collection progress resets that too.

We do not know whether rebirth clears the cooler, the showcase or the index, so the first point above is written as a condition rather than an instruction.

What we could not confirm

  • The cash, fish or level requirement for any rebirth beyond the first.
  • Whether the showcase, cooler, index or pets survive a rebirth.
  • The number of skill points granted per rebirth and the cost of each node.
  • The names and order of the unlocked worlds.

No public source publishes those numbers, so a quoted "rebirth 5 needs X cash" figure cannot be checked from outside the game. The rebirth panel itself shows the requirement before you confirm.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When should you rebirth in Net a Fish?

When the next upgrade costs more than a full session earns. Rebirth resets progress but unlocks worlds and the skill tree, so the trip is worth it once your current world stops paying.

Do you get a skill tree?

Yes. The skill tree appears after the first rebirth, and its first upgrades are net upgrades.

Does rebirth reset your pet?

Not confirmed. No source reviewed states what rebirth keeps, so we do not claim one way or the other.
